Now, from the looks of it, this does not look at all like Thanksgiving is one day away, but it is.
You see, we have a Nana who is too too amazing. If you think you are amazing, all you have to do is meet her and then you will go, "Oh, maybe not."
She is almost all ready for Christmas, and it is only Thanksgiving.
She owns the holidays.
She decorates the house from the tippy top to the tippy bottom? If your house has a tippy bottom she will find it, and she will decorate it for a holiday-mark my words!
She even decorates the bathrooms.
This is one of the reasons we love to go to Nana and Grandpa's for the holidays. We even try to hit it for Halloween because she does it all then too.
It's so cozy and so sweet and you feel like you're at Santa's house. Santa would love it there come to think of it.
Nana was so sweet and let all the grand daughters decorate the tree with her glass ornaments. You heard me, glass ornaments. There were some casualties.
Here comes one now....
WARNING:
These next pictures can be a bit graphic and may be unsuitable for children or extremely tender hearted people, or just people who are very anal about the breaking of Christmas ornaments.
Poor Liberty.
I think the breaking noise scared her more than anything. Or maybe it was all the mommies running to make sure her bare feet didn't become a pin cushion.
Either way, she is upset.
She broke the Grandpa ornament, which means I need to get to work on a new one for him.
She did not break his name though, so that was nice of her.
I love this picture. She looks like she's trying to explain it to him.
There were only a few more ornaments we had to bid farewell to that night.
But you wouldn't know it because the tree looked immaculate. It's like something out of the North Pole.
Oh, look, Kermit got in on it too!
It was not just the grand daughters, my son hung one or two of those things!
Go Kermit!
I had a delightful job on the day of Thanksgiving!
I got to craft with all the kiddos, and make treats!
These are acorns! How cute are they??? I know, indescribable. They were delicious too, and I think I should never make them when I am by myself because I will eat them all and my pants will hate me for it.
We also made Oreo turkeys which I forgot to take a picture of, but they were adorable and yummy.
And we made pinecone owls and turkeys, but you can't eat that. They were so cute! We made our owls for Christmas so we could come home and decorate with them, but I cannot wait to put our cute turkeys out again next year! They are cute, boy howdy!
Uncle Havel was kind enough to set up the race tracks Nana has. And my kids were kind enough to use them until they came apart and Uncle Havel had gone home and I couldn't fix them.
Tink got an amazing shot of the tracks though, and then added her friends to the picture.
And this is probably the only Thanksgiving-ish picture I took.
Nana and Aunt Sassy working on the gravy, which was delightful might I add.
We had fun, as we always do when we go to Nana's house.
We got in a little bit of Black Friday shopping, but did not go too crazy. We slept when people are supposed to sleep, and we did not hit the 8:00 pm sales companies were having.
I like my family and that holiday too much, so we stayed home all day! That night, we watched last year's MoTab Christmas special about the Berlin Candy Bomber, and I am a baby and cried, it's the greatest story!
Thank you again, Nana and Grandpa for a wonderful holiday with great memories, and the knowledge that Deseret Books has a freezer section with Lion House Rolls!
