Aaaaaand, we are back at Nana and Grandpa's house. Surely, they are not sick of us yet...right?
We stayed home for Christmas, but since Rambo had to work all of New Year's, I thought going to Nana's with kids who are out of school would be a good idea so we could see our family, and so we could give our dad a quiet house. So, here we are.
As soon as we got to Nana's, they gave Tink a present they had forgotten, it is a stencil/artwork kit, and she got straight to work! She loves this stuff, and I love that she loves it.
That night, we ate at Chic-fil-a, so the kids could play on the playground, and then we went home. That night, Grandpa and I went out to get the food we would need for fondue!
Fondue has been a tradition on New Year's Eve with my family for all my life! So I try to carry it on in my little family and they love it...except for Rambo, he wasn't too sad to miss out on it. My sweet in-laws were completely supportive in my tradition and bought everything I needed for fondue! They are so sweet.
The next morning, we were up and at it. We took the kids to Jump Time and they had a blast, and so did I! I got to jump with them and race them down the slides and play ball with them, and we just had a wonderful time, not to mention that this place gives you a pretty awesome workout!
The kiddos did the slide like a ba-zillion times and never got tired of it.
I know, all the pictures are a little blurry, but it was so fun!
I love this one of Smalls. If it was in focus, it would be even better! She is just in such a little Peter Pan position it cracks me up!
And now time for rest.
I love the little squishy landing they have at the bottom of the slides! After sliding about a hundred times, I just laid in one, and then my girls came down the slide and came over and laid there with me just giggling. I love moments like that.
Later, that night, we had our fondue. I loved it! I don't think I can say the same for everyone else, but I loved it! Dani and I made a cheese fondue which I have never done because all the cheese ones I have ever tasted were yuck! But this one was quite delicious!
She and I had to run back to Costco to get some white wine for this recipe and some super fancy shmancy cheese. But it was worth it, it was so yummy. We also bought and tried pretzel rolls for the first time and they are a win! I loved them and had to buy a bag when we got home from Twin.
We blew up balloons and put little activities in each balloon until midnight. They weren't anything amazing, it was stuff like "time for fondue" "time for a game" "time for pajamas and a movie" stuff like that, but the kids dug it. Except for Kermit, he does not like popping balloons.
Here are the girls in their Happy New Year hats.
don't they look cute?
Dani and I watched While you were Sleeping. I forgot how much I love that movie. We watched it while the littles were watching Monster's University and giggle giggle giggling. I love how well they all get along.
I had to get a selfie of me and all these party animals!
On New Year's Eve there really is nowhere I would rather be than with my family, snuggled up watching movies and just being silly. Plus, they think it's amazing that they get to stay up until midnight!
I am not sure what my Kermit is doing in this picture, but he makes me smile. I think he's trying to make a Rambo headband. He would not wear a new year's crown...not sure why.... :)
And these two little princesses! Aren't they lovely?
They just played all night and had a great time together.
And these sisters!!! They are mine all mine!
I love this picture, they look like they really really love each other...let's just pretend it's like this all the time shall we?
And another amazing, lovely pose for Aunt Nickie!
I love that little smile and those cheeks are to die for!!!
At midnight, we ran upstairs because Kermit came down to tell us there were fireworks in the canyon, and since Nana and Grandpa live right by the canyon it was quite convenient to stand in the living room by the fire and watch them out the window.
Crazy children still went outside on the deck just because they are crazy and children. I stayed inside and warm.
I loved this New Year's. It was a great time and as always, good memories were made.
On New Year's day, Dani and I took the girls to see Frozen.
Oh my heart be still, it is such a wonderful movie. If you haven't seen it, you must!
I will just say that at the end of the movie, I had Smalls on my lap, and Tink to my side, and I could feel her start to cry at the best part, and I started to cry, and then we looked at Tink and she had tears in her eyes. But in Tink style, she looked at us and said, "Are you guys crying! Seriously!"
But, she was crying too. It was an amazing movie.
And we tried the frosted popcorn. I am a little ashamed of how much of it I ate. It was really really
really good.
And back at Nana's where we are coloring again.
These girls could color and draw and paint etc. etc. for an eternity.
See the cute stencil? Yep, they loved them.
Tink created some lovely drawings and stencilings for Grandpa, and Ethan.
She is so thoughtful.
And that was New Year's.
Thank you again Nana and Grandpa for a wonderful time!
