A fun weekend!

We are so lucky! We had a surprise visit from Nana and Grampa! They came to visit us last Thursday night, and we had such a good time. They've been so busy this entire year. They both lost siblings this year. It's been so sad and strange to have that happen in the same year, needless to say they've been needed in other places to comfort and help their families. Unfortunately for us. We've missed them so much, so it was really good to see them and a really nice surprise. They took us out for dinner at the Cheesecake factory. It was so good to see them.

Friday night we went as a family to the Farmstead. It was so fun. There was so much to do there. Our sweet adopted Grandparents, Dan and Diane, bought us tickets to come here and do all the fun "fally" things.
Here are my 3 stooges at the entrance. They are having fun already!Smalls was impressed just by the ticket booth/barn. She would have stayed and played in the hay the whole time if we'd let her. We are mean so we did not let her.
We made her ride the ponies.
Kermit and Smalls loved the pony rides. Tink wouldn't go, she got scared. I think she thought they were going to take off with her, so she wouldn't get on one.
Smalls had a really good time and Rambo was sure to walk around next to her. Kermit didn't need anyone to walk with him. He's brave.

Next we went to the jumping pillow, I think that's what they called it (is that considered "fall fun"). Smalls had so much fun on this thing. I'm amazed she didn't break her neck. Every time she'd get bounced like this you could hear her laugh all over the place. A sure sign she was not dead (whew).
I love this picture. No, those 2 kids are not mine and I don't even know them, but if you look just to the right of them, that's Tink and Smalls having a moment. Tink was trying to help her up for the billionth time and they were both just giggling.
Plus, look at that sunset...man, a lot goin on in this picture.

Another moment.

After bouncing til we wanted to barf, we found a little hay maze. Tink was all over this thing, she did it no time flat. I love this picture because her little bum looks so cute.
Then we were off to the slides! This slide was sooo funny. It's just a bunch of PVC pipe rolling you down the slide. You really don't go very fast......at all, but the whole time down this thing, Smalls is going, "weeeeeee (deep breath in) weeeeeee" repeat.
One hour later (just kidding HA).

And back up the slide, I actually think she went up the slide a little faster. I had to get this picture because again, look at that cute little bum!!!
And the whole crew.
weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

After falling off the stairs that lead up to the amazingly fun slide, we decided that was enough of that, so we threw the kids in to a big box of corn.
I had to get in too, I'm not gonna lie to you, this was fun. There are so many uses for corn.

Tink was being way too sassy, so we decided to bury her, that'll teach her!

I'm only teasing, she wasn't being sassy, she actually wanted me to bury her!

After Tink broke out of the corn, we went for a ride on the cow train-yep, you heard me right-the cow train! Where again Smalls was chanting her "weeeeeeeeee" throughout the ride.
After the cow train, we had a yummy funnel cake because why wouldn't we! And then we were off the corn maze. I love this picture even though it's blurry. Smalls is just checking the specs on the rotary-we need to make sure the flashlight is working somehow right.

And then there's these guys, never let them lead you through a corn maze-not if you ever want to go home and go to bed.
We had such a good time! Thank you so much Dan and Diane! We love you so much!!!

Not much...

Life around our house is just business as usual. Which apparently involves a convertible full of apple pieces.
I served it to her, and this is how it ended up...I guess I should have been more considerate of her giraffe's landscape.I love mornings with my girls. Kermit is up and at 'em and gone pretty quick every morning, so that just leaves me and these goofy little girls.
Smalls has been loving the "super cape".

She can even say something like it, it sounds a little more like "keep", but we all know what she's talking about.

She runs through the kitchen and living room just saying, "I super, I super."
Well, I think she's super.

And Tink giving me her Rocker Girl pose. I love this kid. She decided not to do dance this fall. It makes me sort of sad, but then again, I don't have another person to make a monthly check out to... so I guess I'll just call it good.
I'm putting up Halloween this week, I've waited long enough, so hopefully next time I post there will be a whole bunch of spooky crap in the background.

Dave & Jil

This is Dave and Jil. I cannot believe Jil's picture has not been on my blog yet. I heart her, she is my bestest buddy. We do tons of stuff together-go cow tipping, throw stuff off the bridge, lotsa stuff.I decided to make them into zombies, aren't they the cutest zombies you ever saw!!!???
Zombie Jil is holding a brain...maybe Dave's...just kidding Dave! Cuz I never even made a hole in your zombie head!
From the looks of it, they are just getting back from dinner.
I love Dave and Jil, they are the greatest, and Jil is one of the few people who understands and appreciates my love of Halloween.
They have requested zombie children, so there's more to come.
Loves!

FHE with our friends!

Monday night we got to hang out with our friends the Haddocks. They are such wonderful people and they have the funnest backyard in the whole wide world! Swings, and a trampoline, and a corn field, and chickens and their big dog Remington. Not to mention their fire pit and bunny, and volleyball court and on and on and on! It was too fun.
Smalls was in love with Remi. She just sat on the ground with her and said "oof oof" to her until the novelty wore off...not with Smalls-with Remi.Look at these 2. I want to get a puppy for her. Sigh, oh well.

Melody, Tink, and Smalls, all together watching the dog...good times...

We made foil dinners so Kermit could pass off cooking a meal in the outdoors for his family. He has to do that for Scouts. He's getting so good at this stuff. He cut all the potatoes and carrots (and we did not end up in the E.R. as Rambo had planned), and helped cook them in the firepit. Just look how fun their yard is.
And, the most important part of dinner...the dessert! We got to roast marshmallows, and have s'mores. And I gotta tell you, I read on my friend's blog about using a Reese's peanut butter cup in your s'more...holy moly, it was incredible. Thank you Nettie for the idea. I am fatter (and grateful) just remembering the experience.
I didn't get as many great pictures as I wanted to, but I am going to help their oldest daughter make a flower for her hair for Homecoming!!! So I'll have to take more pics to show you what an adorable family they are. I heart them so much!
Thank you again!!!

That's my Girl

So, the other day I noticed Smalls bringing the step stool out of the kids' bathroom, at first I thought, "Oh good, more stuff I get to clean up later."
Then I noticed her face...this was a toddler on a mission.
She brought the footstool into the kitchen and set it down. Then she pushed it right to where she wanted it.
See her lining it up.
She got on the other side of it and started pushing it toward the counter.

As soon as she pulled herself up onto the stool, I understood this journey she was on.
Smart girl.

Labor Day Weekend

What a way to kick off the school year. We had a really fun weekend.
We drove to Twin Falls because Aunt Sassy and Uncle Havel were gonna be there, and we haven't seen our baby niece since her blessing (we are losers!) And, of course, because it was time for the Twin Falls County Fair! Everybody who's anybody was there.
Just kidding, I hate the fair-for those of you who don't know. But I sucked it up, put on a happy face and we went to the stinky, smelly, gross, dirty, slimey, fun-filled, super duper fair!First stop, the petting zoo (yay, what is my baby getting all over her hands?)
Goat slobber, that's what.
Tink loved feeding them too, she thought it was magical (and it really is).

I can't tell you how hard it was to take these pictures and not just grab her and sanitize her from head to toe.
However, it's pretty cute, in a gross, goatish sort of way.

She was super excited though, so that helped to soften the blow.

Aunt Sassy and Baby LJ. See, she never did get ugly huh. She's just one of those people who, even on her ugly days, is just pretty, just really stinkin pretty (and yet, I don't want to kill her). And could you just eat that baby up? I could. I loved that we got to spend time with them!!! This pic was in the scenic Ag building, shortly afterward, we stole all the coloring pictures for Sassy's class.
We are rebels.

Smalls enjoyed playing in the beans and corn pool with all the tractors...wait, what?
I love the fair!

Again, YAY for the fair!

And horses, there were horses. And was Smalls afraid of them? No not a bit. She walked over to them and waved at them and talked to them and even petted them.

Can you guess what I was thinking?
"Oh, I hope I get to clean 'horse sneeze' off her next."
Tink and Kermit were much to busy and involved to pose or stop for any pictures, so just picture in your head the amazing time they had at the fair. As long as it involves dirt, slobber, dirty food, disgusting dirty toes, way too much Diet Coke, and a bit of a sunburn-you have imagined correctly.

Sunday, we were supposed to get to go with Sassy and Havel to a cabin for a picnic and some fishing and just a good time, after church of course!
We did get up and go to church, then we loaded up our picnic and we were off to an amazing adventure in Hagerman. When we got to the "Resort" it was amazing!
for 1952
There was beautiful wood paneling, and a golden yellow kitchen sink, and on and on and on. Kind of charming in a horror movie sort of way...
To make a long story short, the owner felt it was wrong for us to be there picnic-ing and visiting if we weren't going to stay the night (only sassy and havel were). After words were exchanged between Owner and Havel, it was decided, we would leave.
It was sad cuz we had to leave our cute aunt and uncle and that cute baby. What was sadder, I didn't know where my camera was. So I have no proof of these events.
MONDAY!
We went apple pickin'!
Talk about a fun day out! We had such a good time, check out Kermit, he looks like a professional apple picker. That thing he has is a tool that helps you get the apples that are up really high.
He's just too cute.
Tink was excited to get in on the action, she picked tons of apples and had a good time too, she would have picked them all if we'd let her. But we wouldn't cuz we're mean.
Smalls had to give it a try, she just kept waddling throught the orchard saying, "apple, apple". It was really cute.
I love this picture, you can't see any faces, that could be anyone pickin' apples and I just took their picture. Only I know it's Rambo and Smalls.
Kermit gave up on the apple picking tool and decided Dad's shoulders were the way to go...this didn't last too long, Kermit's getting BIG!!
Tink has got it all wrong...that's for the apples that are way up high...didn't I tell her that?
psh, kids...
So in love with these babies am I.
How cute is this picture? Kermit is such a great big brother.
I had to give this a try too, this was a fun day/experience for us. I'm so glad we found this orchard, we are definitely coming back! Their Jonathan apples will be ready in two weeks, then they have a pumpkin patch in October! I'm in loooove with this place. The family that owns it was super nice too, we talked to them forever.
A Tink/Rambo action shot.
Smalls did her part handing me every apple on the ground. I love this girl.
Then she sat on the wagon inspecting the apples we thought we wanted to keep. She made the final decision, either throwing them in the bucket, or throwing them on the ground.
Apple inspection.
My adorable family. I kiss them entirely too much.
We also picked blackberries. Here's the farmer showing Tink where all the good ones "hide". She loved this!
Then, the greatest, Tink got to pet a goose. She had such a great time with all this. And Kermit told us later it was the best day/weekend EVER!
After apples, we had scones at a dive of a place, it had it's charm though. Rambo was not impressed with their scones. Smalls was just there to dance.
Well, both the girls were just there for the dancing. They did eat a little too.
It was such a fun weekend.
I wish we could have spent more time with Sassy and Havel and little LJ, but it was just not in the cards. Maybe next time...
