Valentine's day is a lot of fun for these kiddos.
We started our Valentine week getting some wonderful cards from Nana and Grandpa with $10 Target cards inside! The kids were kind of ecstatic about it! They love to get anything in the mail with their name on it.
We also got Valentine's from Grandpa Dan and Grandma Diane with $2 bills in them, the kids don't know what to think of those, do they save them, or can they spend them?
I say save them, and they do not like me for it. That is the job of a mom I guess.
Nana and Grandpa did not forget me either! They are so awesome!
Check out these strawberries!!!!
I was so excited!
Rambo tried to take credit for them, but much to his dismay the card was signed "Love, Mom and Dad"
Dead giveaway! Nice try Rambo!
I was nice and shared.
THANK YOU NANA AND GRANDPA!!!
Valentine's week was totally crazy. I have no idea why we planned Blue and Gold the day before Valentine's day, but we did. Maybe Valentine's day isn't a big deal to some people, but it's a big deal around these parts!!! We had Valentine boxes to make and Valentines to make!
Priorities people!
The only sad thing was, this was Kermit's first year to not have a Valentine party at school!
Boys get embarrassed by valentines though, and he's trying to stay cool, so I guess I will play along.
Tink is a wee bit obsessed with dragons right now. Check out that teeny little dragon!
I found it in her bed the other morning because she is so amazed with it. Her Uncle Havel has made her some origami dragons, and she keeps them forever, but the thing is, she plays with them, so they do eventually bite the dust, and she is devastated.
She knew from the get go what her box was going to be, and she went right for it and made a dragon!
Check that out!
I think she did such a great job!
We even found some cutesy ones we could have tried, but no, she was having none of that, she wanted a fierce, mean dragon and you have to put the Valentines in his mouth! If we could have put a flame thrower in him we would have, but you can't do that at Peregrine Elementary School.
Don't get scared.
Isn't he fierce?
And one from the side so you can see his spikes and wings, and that tongue....can I tell you how many times we cut that tongue before it was perfect?
9
9 times.
But a dragon box deserves perfection.
Now Smalls.
She is my last preschooler (don't cry) and we had to make an extra special Valentine for her class, and she couldn't believe the cute owls I have on my cutter and so we knew we had to make them.
They turned out so cute!
We put her favorite candy in them: Lik a Stik
Smalls is a candy girl. Not a chocolate girl (although she doesn't turn it down) she loves suckers, smarties, bottle caps, sweet tarts, taffy, jelly bean-real candy. But Lik a Stik is her fav by far.
Tink gave out Angry Bird Valentines.
She was kind enough to take off her mask to take her picture with her Valentine.
And check out all those owls! I thought they were so cute all lined up on the counter.
On Valentine's Day, I got up, got kids out the door and on their way to school, took Smalls to preschool and did what my mom used to do on Valentine's day. She would make our beds (we were terrible bed makers in my house) she would even straighten out our rooms, and then she would display valentines on our pillows. Usually a box of chocolate from her and a rose from my dad with a card. So I did that for my kids, well the cleaning of the rooms and made their beds, the rest is a little different.
We cut out hearts for FHE on Monday and then we wrote sweet things on them to each other and then we were supposed to leave them on each other's pillows with a candy bar, or m&ms. It was so cute to see my kids writing little notes to each other, and Smalls drawing pictures for everyone. So everyone was happy.
Rambo and I were supposed to go out, but I got super duper sick, and lost my voice, so instead, we got a heart shaped pizza from papa murphey's and some cheesy bread and a couple 1/2 gallons of ice cream and stayed home on the couch watching Renovation Realities. I love that show.
His valentine to me was a bottle of NyQuil, and some herbal tea-how I love that man.
We will try for our date this weekend maybe.
It really was a lovely day, and I was happy to spend it with my little family!

oh my gosh! Please teach me how you use your cutter. I would love to make all those things. I am dying at those owls. I am with you on the last baby in preschool. I felt like I went all out too! Why not! It is our last. Ok I am crying now. i have got to stop!
Your valentine's looked like a lot of fun. Sorry you got sick - that party = not that fun! But glad that Rambo took great care of you. Hug him for me would you?
Love you.
Are you still using the silhouette that you have had forever?
