Welcome to the Nuthouse!

This is our Aubrey! She's pretty much the sweetest baby ever, we are so in love with her we can hardley stand it. She was born last Friday, Jan. 23rd. She weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz., and was 20.5" long. Her delivery-well, it just plain sucked. The anasthesiologist came in to do my epidural, and he did such a great job that my chest went numb, so I couldn't feel myself breathing, it was not my favorite sensation. He turned down the dosage so I could breathe again, but I was able to feel every other glorious thing going on as well. I won't go into details, I'll just tell you that it really stunk, and I don't understand why you would do that to yourself by choice. Drugs are gooooood -as long as they work. I think I should get a discount or something on that epidural. Now, onto the other loveliness of the delivery, the cord was around Aubrey's little neck, however, it didn't hurt her (thank goodness). But she did have a bit of a breathing problem, so they kept us at the hospital an extra night to keep an eye on her. She's doing great! She's just breathing away-inhale, exhale, repeat-yep, she's got it down!
Are those the funniest little booties you've ever seen? The nurse brought her back to me the first night-after vitals and stats and what-not, with this little hat and booties, they crack me up. Look at those little chicken legs and then those huge boofy booties.

Here we are just kickin' it. She's seriously such a good baby, and pretty easy to read. We love having her home with us. Tink and Kermit love her to pieces already, they kiss her and give her toys, and want to hold her and snuggle her. They're both obsessed with her tiny feet (who can blame them?) They're always asking me to show them her feet.

And of course, Rambo has always been a sucker for babies, and it looks to me like she's in love with him too. They are so cute together, it borders on sickening-well, maybe not, cuz I actually really like it. Rambo is such a good daddy, and he's just my very best friend. I don't know what I would have done without him by my side through all of this. Aubrey's delivery was easily the hardest physical experience of my life, and I just feel all too blessed that I had my loving husband to help me through it all. He's the best, I would be lost without him. I love love love you honey!
Yay for babies!!

She's gorgeous! I'm glad things turned out okay, even with the bad delivery. Dumb epidurals. People say they are wonderful but I've heard from too many people with problems. Mine worked too well--I didn't feel anything and couldn't walk for HOURS after. I hated that too. Plus, my husband almost passes out at the sight of the needle. Not doing another one again if I can help it!

What great a post! Aubrey is a precious, beautiful baby. I also love how tender Rambo looks when he is holding her. I really think that you should get your anesthesia for free since he fouled up so bad. Make sure you remember his name so you never use him again. I can't even imagine how scary it would be to not feel yourself breathing. . I am sorry you had such a hard delivery.

That is one seriously beautiful baby. Her little mouth is just perfect. In the picture with her daddy she looks like she is saying, "I haven't seen you for such a long time. And hey, this time you're MY DAD." Don't you just love it that we know the full truth?

PS Congratulations. And sorry for the crummy epidural. I had a crummy one with Lord Bumhampton. My legs shook and were all super tingly for a long time and I thought, "If I've sacraficed my legs for pain relief I will be sorry all my life."

Childbirth is truly a miracle.

Sorry about the epidural....I know how you feel....no I ACTUALLY do, since I have that same thing happen to me. We can talk labor horror stories later..... :)

I can't wait to hear more about your sweet girl, sleepless nights, and enjoy having Rambo home for the next little while.

YEAHH!! I am so excited to see her. She is so sweet. I am jealous you get another girl! You better dress her up lots for me!! Sorry about your epidural, I know how bad they sucked. I had the same thing not being able to feel me breath, but they couldn't turn mine down with a csection. Hopefully the memories fade after a few hundred years! Take care of you two!
