Welp, there goes summer

I feel like I just blogged about my cute niece, and now here we are the last Saturday before school starts!
Summer went by too fast, and a little too slow at times. Tink and Kermit are done with each other, they love each other and they are sick of each other and they tattle on each other, then they make messes together, and fight some more...yeah, I think they're ready for school.
Our summer went a little like this: Get up, find a body of water somewhere to go play in and do it.
Here are the girls at Eagle Island Park. I was not prepared for a water day, so they are swimming around fully clothed. Tink did a magnificent impression of a crab for anyone who would watch and Smalls was just content to walk up and down the beach for the rest of her life if I'd let her.

My Smalls. She is not so small anymore, she can wear a 3T and sometimes a 4T. We're looking into volleyball and basketball for this one.

We did some Boise exploring this summer.
Every Wednesday night there were bands playing on the Grove and these B Boys were all set up to do their magic. Tink was amazed to say the least. She could have watched them all night.
Lucky for us, she showed us some of her moves as well. I have video of this I will post in a different post since this one's got way too much goin' on.
Earlier that day we found an inch worm, and she played with it for like an hour before deciding to search for it's family so she could return it safely to them. She was content to let him go after I explained to her that they were probably involved in hide-and-seek and he was the seeker so she'd never find his family because inch worms are the best hiders ever. I had a worried little Tink on my hands for a little bit there.
Had to hit the Boise Historical Museum (this is what you do when you have no travelin' money). We had never been there and it was something Kermit could use for Scouts. There were some interesting things there and some boring things too, and we looked at them all.

The interactive saddles were a huge hit with my kids.
Smalls was amazed by this canoe in the Lewis and Clark wing of the museum, she later decided to go ahead and get in the boat, but that picture's at the bottom...stupid Blogger.
Smalls in front of the great Gem State, how cute is that outfit? I know and perfect for museum day because there were no rivers or fountains or any of that stuff.
Tink and a donkey. This was at the museum, but I can't remember what for...I mean, does this look like history? I dunno, I'm gonna have to go back and check it out again.
Oh parades! This was a doozy of a parade too, the Meridian Dairy Days parade with Miss Dairy and lots of cow-themed "floats". They throw tons of candy and they also give out cheese sticks and milk. Good times and dairy food, what more do you need?
Here we are getting the perfect spot. Tink and Kermit are following Dan, he's our adopted Grampa, we adore him and his wife, Diane.
They came with us to the parade
There's the gang, I had to at least get one picture of us all together except Dan, he is recognized everywhere he goes and at this moment he was being loved by another family.
Aren't these guys too cute though? And Diane is the nicest person you'd ever meet. She and my stepmom are super best friends, they've known each other forever and ever, that's how we met them. Since our Grammy and Nana and Grampa live so far away, we take out our Gramma/Grampa time on them.
They don't seem to mind so far.
Kermit caught a smashingly stylish t-shirt, it fits him perfectly too.
Tink was very kind to share her candy after she tried it and decided she didn't really like it. That's my girl...

What summer is complete without the backyard swimming pool?
Rambo would tell you every summer, and probably swear a little too.
Lucky for my kids, I don't feel the same way so I got them a pool to play in, and it is being loved!
Smalls looks like some kind of swimsuit model in this cute little pool, she stinkin' loves this thing. When it's not full of water, they turn it upside down and get underneath it and play. I love watching my kids play in the summertime, they are a lot more creative than I thought they were...wow, that sounded really mean. I just love seeing their minds work and watching what they come up with.
Who's got the cutest kids? We all have the same answer to that question and that answer, of course, is "me".

Ah! I told you she'd get in there with that wood guy and his wood dog.
"THAT DOG LOOKS JUST LIKE UNCLE NATE'S DOG!"
"SHHHHHH", said mom.
"We're in a museum you know."
"I know it's just that, it looks just like his dog, Stoner or something like that-"
"I know."
That's Me and Kermit talkin'.

So, sorry we couldn't blog for a while, we've been kinda busy.
That was a lot of pictures, and y'know something, I still have like a ton more, I will spare you though. Hopefully I'll have more time to do this now that school is back in and I have afternoons to just me and Smalls!

I can't believe how big Smalls is. It looks like you guys are all having a lot more fun than I am this summer--sitting home nursing my cracked kneecap.

I love you all so much. Well, I am going to try and publish a new post on my blog.
