More perfection from our perfect family

I yi yi.

We took the kids to the mall the other night because our favorite candy store, Fuzziwigs, is there (among other things) and we wanted to let them get a lollipop. Well, we couldn't pass up Baby Gap, so we went in to look around, we found super cute pants for Smalls, and a dress to die for for Tink.

Isn't that the cutes dress you've ever seen??? -Pictures of Tink in this dress available soon.

After shopping Gap Kids, we decided to leave and get our lollipops. Fuzziwig's is just upstairs from the Gap, so we all hopped on the escalators (Tink's most favorite thing). We went in and had a delightful time picking out lollipops, and getting Mom a nice big Diet Pepsi, we looked at the toys in there, and talked about how good it smells in there (like chocolate), and then we left the store. As we were about to head for the car, I noticed something in our stroller, there was a darling little hat, and a cute little t-shirt all from the Baby Gap...I said to myself, "I don't remember putting this in here-even more, I don't remember paying for this." So, I asked Tink if she put them in there, and she proudly announced that she had picked them out for Aubrey!!! Yay!

I marched her and our stolen goods back to the escalator, amazed that here I was buying my little thief a lollipop... Tink and I got on the "down" escalator, followed by Rambo and Smalls-but not Kermit. He decided tonight would be a great night to decide he has a crazy phobia of the "down" escalator. He stood at the top of the thing just howling about how it was too scary and it made him dizzy blah blah blah...(I did not have time for this-doesn't he know!?) Well, I had to get this crap back into the store, and teach Tink a lesson! We went in, I handed the stuff to Tink and told her to give them to the clerk. She happily bounced up to the register and told the clerk proudly about how she'd taken these things for her sister, then she chirped out the happiest "SORRY" in the world, giggled a little-and at this point the clerk is giggling too, then stuck her lollipop back in her mouth. Boy did I teach her a lesson or what! She'll think twice about ever doing that again... I'm a failure as a parent...

Back to Kermit. I went hurrying out of the store to go up and get Kermit because I knew Rambo wouldn't and really couldn't (at that moment, Smalls decided she wanted her bottle, so he was readying that). By the time I got out there, Kermit was riding down the escalator arm-in-arm with another little boy. How cute is that? And how pathetic that another mommy had to decide that I wasn't going to rescue my poor boy, so she had to take matters into her own hands, and have her brave brave son help mine down the escalator. Ugh.

How can they pull such a 180? The other night they're teaching me wonderful eternal lessons, and this night...what? Oh well, they make life interesting right?

I love the dress and i am dying to see Tink in it, but the "returning unpaid for Items+escalator story was just too funny.

You're so brave for taking them all to the mall! Wow - I'm grateful that I can't quite relate to that experience yet, but I'm sure my time is coming soon. That dress really is the cutest thing and I'm sure Tink will look amazing in it!

Hang in there! Don't feel like a bad mom. There are to many opportunities to beat ourselves down. Your kids crack me up, but I know the stress and how hard the funny stories are as your going through them. love you
